Increasing Communication Through Understanding Motivators & Attitudes
The “Your Attitude is Showing Workshop” is a half-day program designed to help you know yourself and others to improve communication and relationships. According to author Dr. Stephen Covey, “We see the world not as it is, but as we are.” This seminar will focus on helping you clarify how you view the world, and help you understand how to view the world through someone else’s eyes – recognizing the driving forces in their lives and understanding their perspectives. This understanding, based on the theory of values and attitudes, will allow you to discover how to improve communication.
What are Work Place Motivators?
A motivator is a way of looking at life, a mindset, and an influence on every decision we make. The theory of motivators was first developed by Eduard Spranger, who observed that people viewed the world and their interactions through six different “attitudes.” Our motivators, according to Spranger, determined what we perceive positively or negatively in life. They are described as the “why” of our actions and help us discover our purpose and direction in life. Your strongest motivators will influence your decisions such as:
- Your career choices
- What you do in your free time
- Your opinions of others
- How you spend money
These attitudes are classified into six motivators:
- Help you understand which attitudes drive your life, actions and decisions
- Help you understand each attitude and the interaction of each
- Recognize the driving forces in others’ lives
- Learn how you can adapt to see the world through others’ eyes
- Understand others’ viewpoints and be able to dialogue convincingly by seeing the world through their eyes
Each attendee will be given a TTI Success Insights Motivator™ assessment and receive an in-depth workbook that provides a great resource for learning and understanding the six values or attitudes. This workbook will help attendees learn how to recognize, understand and apply the values theory for better communication.
